Our 2025 season will begin on June 4th and Tour Guides will be on site each Wednesday and Saturday up until 27th September.  Meet the Guide at the start point which is just at the top of the steps as you exit the car park footpath.  If you are travelling by boat, follow the mooring towards the monument, and then follow to the meeting point on the path into the site.  Both the car park and the mooring are free of charge

Our tours will commence at 2:00pm each time, and will last for approximately 90 mins.  This is a heritage monument, and the terrain can be uneven and grassy.  There may also be farm animals grazing on the land.  Please wear suitable footwear.  There is also very little shade on the site, so if it is hot ensure your sun cream is topped up and maybe pop a hat on.

Built in approximately 1019, our St Benet’s  tour guides will bring to life the stories behind St Benet’s Abbey, from how the monks lived, to it’s role in the local community, why it survived the dissolution and what role the Bishop of Norwich plays at the site to this day.  You will hear of rebels and rebellions, see dragons and middle aged graffiti, and learn why it has a windmill built around the gatehouse, and see The Cross of Peace.  The site is home now to beautiful wildlife and sitting adjacent to the Rivers Bure and Ant, ensure you bring a camera and binoculars.
