On Sunday 28th June at 10:00a.m we will be back at Caistor Roman Town with our annual event, Romans and Butterflies, a fun event for all ages celebrating the sites history and the nature that thrives there.

This year we will be joined by Boudica who will tell her story of her hatred of the Romans and how she created the uprising against the empire.  She will also offer to paint the faces of her warriors with blue celtic markings to scare off the enemy.

Our tour Guides will share child friendly tours of the site, talking about how the Romans lived here and how influential the town was in Roman Times.

Dave from Butterfly Norfolk will have some great nature finds to show you and maybe you can even hold something on your hand!  There will be an opportunity to identify butterflies and earn rewards.

Cake and Drinks will be served from the church, with a colouring station for children to enjoy the cool.

Joe will share our handling collection giving you an opportunity to see some of the artefacts that have been discovered on site as part of excavations.

There is an activity tent with crafts and pot filling for children or those with an interest.

We have dress up for the children to enjoy and get the photos taken in Roman Costume.

There is a geo caching trail on this site for fans of geocaching.

There will be a secondhand book stall and a tombola to help raise funds for the Norfolk Archaeological Trust.

Want to wander in peace and quiet, our site is made up of 98 acres, some is wildflower meadow, some is a lovely riverside walk, stretch your legs and explore.

We look forward to welcoming you to our event, and ensure that you have a great day for all the family
