PRESS STATEMENT
Immediate Release:
Vandalism at Tasburgh Enclosure Puts Livestock at Risk:
We are devastated to share that a series of deliberate acts of vandalism have taken place at our site in Tasburgh over the past month.
Fences have been intentionally cut, and a pedestrian gate was stolen—actions that have created a significant safety risk for the sheep that graze the site. These sheep are not just animals; they play a vital role in our conservation work, helping to maintain the historic landscape in a sustainable and natural way.
Each incident has left us more disheartened. As a small charity dedicated to preserving Norfolk’s heritage, we rely on the respect and care of the community to help us protect places like Tasburgh. These thoughtless and destructive acts not only endanger the wellbeing of the animals in our care, but also threaten the important conservation efforts we’ve worked so hard to maintain.
Our team is heartbroken. The sheep have had to be moved from the site, and we are now working closely with the police to investigate what has happened.
Now, more than ever, we need your help. Our priority is restoring the site’s safety but, firstly, raising the funds to be able to do so.
Please consider supporting us—whether through a donation, spreading the word, or simply keeping a watchful eye on the site. Together, we can ensure that Tasburgh remains a safe and protected space for heritage, wildlife and the local community.
