Burnham Norton Friary Conservation Project – “Save our Sacred Heritage”
About the role
We are looking for local volunteers to help connect the Burnham Norton Conservation Project with the wider community. This role focuses on raising awareness of the project, supporting community activity, and helping us build positive relationships with local people and organisations.
Community Engagement Volunteers act as friendly, approachable advocates for the project, helping to share information and encourage local involvement.
What you’ll be doing
Helping at local community events and talks, including helping with set up and pack down
Talking informally with residents about the project
Making contact with local organisations, groups, and venues
Putting up posters and distributing leaflets in the local area
Helping spread the word in a positive and welcoming way
Who this role is for
People who live locally or know the Burnham Norton area well
Confident communicators who enjoy talking to people
Anyone with an interest in the local community and conservation
No specialist knowledge is needed. All information, guidance, and support will be provided.
Time commitment
